Parking You've picked up your rental car at Alicante Airport and are cruising towards the famous skyline. Now for the one question every driver asks: where on earth do you park in Benidorm? Let's be honest: TripAdvisor forums often call summer parking "a complete nightmare." During July and August, finding a space can be a challenge, and even hotel parking gets full. Many of Benidorm's 4-star hotels charge between €15 and €25 per night for a secure spot, and these often sell out. However, with the right knowledge of the zones, timing, and local alternatives, parking is perfectly manageable year-round. You just need to know the rules of the game. Benidorm's on-street paid parking is managed by the ORA (Ordenanza Reguladora de Aparcamiento) system, commonly known as the "zona azul" or blue zone. You'll find ticket machines along these streets; you can pay with coins or use a mobile app. The official operator is ORA Grúa Benidorm. The pricing is very reasonable, but the maximum stay is strictly enforced at 2 hours. Duration Price Maximum Stay 30 mins €0.25 2 hours 60 mins €0.50 2 hours 90 mins €0.75 2 hours 120 mins €1.00 2 hours The enforcement hours change dramatically between winter and summer. Getting this wrong is an easy way to get a ticket. Local Insight: Summer Midnight Enforcement The most common mistake tourists make is assuming the blue zone is free after 8 pm in summer. From June 15th to September 30th (and during Easter week), ORA enforcement runs from 09:00 right through to midnight (24:00), seven days a week. ORA Enforcement Hours: Summer (June 15 – Sep 30 & Semana Santa): Mon–Sun, 09:00 – 24:00 (Midnight) Winter (Oct 1 – June 14): Mon–Fri, 09:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00. Saturday, 09:00–14:00. Sundays & Public Holidays (Winter only): FREE all day. Understanding the painted lines on the road is the key to avoiding a fine. Benidorm uses a standard Spanish colour-coding system for parking bays. Line Colour Meaning & Rules Where to Find Them White Dashed Free Parking. No time limit, no payment needed. These are the most sought-after spots. Periphery of Rincón de Loix, side streets in Cala Finestrat. Blue Solid ORA Paid Parking. Pay at the machine, max 2-hour stay. Observe the enforcement times. Most central streets, beach promenades, commercial areas. Green Solid Residents Only. Do not park here. This is exclusively for locals with permits. Fines are common. Residential blocks slightly away from the main tourist centre. Yellow Zig-Zag No Parking. Usually for loading/unloading (Carga y Descarga) or bus stops. Towing is likely. Outside shops, hotels, and on major thoroughfares. Warning: Avoid Green Lines at All Costs A green-lined bay might look like a tempting, empty space, but it's a trap for visitors. These zones are for registered residents only, and parking enforcement is strict. You will almost certainly be fined. For guaranteed, secure, 24/7 parking, an underground car park is your best bet. The most central and largest is the Telpark Mercado Municipal located at C/ Mercado nº 1, 03501 Benidorm. It has 701 spaces, full CCTV coverage, and is open 24 hours. The standard tariff is €2.65 for the first hour with a daily maximum of €26.40. For a smoother experience, download the Telpark app, which allows for ticketless entry and exit using automatic number plate recognition (Entrada Express). Other large Telpark-operated car parks with similar tariffs can be found at Plaza Triangular and near the Sunset Drive development in Poniente. Insider Tip: The €2.99 All-Day Parking Trick Using the Telpark app at the Mercado Municipal car park, you can often find a special offer to book a 12-hour block for just €2.99. This is a fantastic, cheap way to secure all-day parking right in the town centre. Check the "Multipass" or special offers section in the app before you arrive. Finding free parking in Benidorm is possible if you know where and when to look. Rincón de Loix Periphery: Head up the hills behind the main Rincón entertainment district. Streets like Avenida de Estocolmo and the surrounding residential roads often have white-lined bays. It might mean a 15-minute walk to the beach, but it's free. Cala Finestrat: On the far side of Poniente beach, the side streets of Cala Finestrat offer numerous free, white-lined spaces. This is a great option if you're staying on the Poniente side of town. Blue Zones (Out of Hours): Remember, all blue zones are completely free after 14:00 on Saturday and all day on Sundays and public holidays during the winter season. Aqualandia / Mundomar: If you're visiting the water park or zoo for the day, they offer a huge 50,000 m² of free on-site parking. It's about 6 km from the Levante beachfront, so it's not a viable option for beach parking. Using your rental car for day trips is fantastic. Benidorm has a Low Emission Zone (ZBE) covering 74 hectares across three areas: Centro (35 ha), Levante (31 ha), and Poniente (8 ha). This restricts which vehicles can “enter” certain streets, not just where they can park. The good news is that nearly all cars from major rental suppliers are modern and pre-compliant, carrying the necessary C or ECO environmental sticker. If you have guests with a Spanish-plated car visiting you at your hotel inside the ZBE, they may need to register their number plate at zbe.benidorm.org; check with your hotel reception for assistance. Unauthorized entry into the ZBE can result in a €200 fine. You can learn more in our guide to driving rules and the ZBE. For more official information, check the Visit Benidorm website.
